Prior to joining BHEF, Ms. Akers served as associate manager of executive education programs during the George Washington University (GWU), where she executed the administrative and pupil functions of two premier programs: STAR EMBA – an executive MBA system created especially for expert athletes, as well as on the Board – a one-year fellowship to recognize, prepare, promote and place ladies executives onto business boards. For more than 10 years, she's also offered as manager of Virginia Tech’s Northern Virginia scholar Center, with obligation for several components of day-to-day operations of a center housing 175 faculty and staff, along with 2, 000 graduate students.
