The Executive Agency Education, Audiovisual and society (EACEA), situated in Brussels, happens to be functional since 1st January 2006.
Its mission should implement numerous strands of more than 15 Community funded programmes and activities in areas of training and education, energetic citizenship, youth, audiovisual and culture.
Bringing these programmes under an individual banner allows to coordinate administration and offer programme beneficiaries with a totally extensive solution.
Although the company possesses its own appropriate identity, it reports to four Directorates-General associated with the European Commission : Education and heritage (EAC), Migration and Residence Affairs (HOME), Communication systems, Content and tech (CNECT) and Humanitarian help and Civil cover (ECHO), which remain responsible for programming, assessing, and issuing guidelines.
The agency manages many administration areas of the programs, including drawing up requires proposals, picking tasks and signing project agreements, monetary management, monitoring of jobs (advanced reports, final reports); communication with beneficiaries; and on the location settings.
The programme strands handled by the agency are all centralised and help technical tasks, which do not indicate making political choices.
